Meet the Crew

Dale LasaterDale Lasater was raised on The Dale Lasater Ranch, Falfurrias, Texas and Matheson, Colorado. Since 1986 he has been the managing partner of the family cattle operation.

For ten years prior to that, he worked as general manager of International Cattle Systems, a diversified livestock company headquartered in Kansas. Dale is a past president of the Pikes Peak Cattlemen’s Association, and has served on the board of directors of the Colorado Cattlemen’s Agricultural Land Trust, the Texas Cattle Feeders Association, and the National Cattlemen’s Association (predecessor of NCBA). He was a founding board member of the Holistic Management Colorado Branch. In 2002, Dale was awarded the Slow Food Award for Biodiversity in Turin, Italy.

After graduating from Princeton University in 1965, Dale spent a year studying as a Fulbright scholar at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and then spent two years working with a cattle improvement program with the Peace Corps in Colombia. He and his wife Janine have two sons, Alex and Tom. Both have had experience in international business, in Mexico and China, respectively, and both are now involved with cattle raising and the beef business in Colorado. Dale is the author of Falfurrias (College Station, Texas A&M University Press, 1985) and the
editor of Flatrock  (Colorado Springs, Master Publications, 2001).
